Why I love Macro Photography

Capturing a Smaller World, #490 |
Macro photography for me is like a little adventure. I am searching for the beauty of the world, searching for the abstraction, the unusual parts that make it special. I am attempting to take a picture and bring it out, put it on a larger scale, something everyone can look at, without the help of a microscope or lens.
I want people to be able to see this beauty as I do, I want them to see all the mistakes each subject was given and that it can still be beautiful with these mistakes. I want to capture all the shapes that are hidden inside the subject, the shadows, the textures, the story of it. I want to show the story of the subject, how it is giving life to itself and to other things around. I want to show it is needed. I want to show it is not just this one thing, it is so many other things too. I want to capture it all.
I pick the parts that I feel best represent whatever it is I am taking a photograph of. Sometimes, it is how the colors interact with each other, blending into other colors or fading out. Sometimes, I want to capture the parts that are not so beautiful, the mistakes, the destruction of it, the death. I am trying to show, it is still perfect and beautiful even though it may not seem like so. At times I want you to be able to feel the photograph or almost smell it. I want to conjure up all the senses and paste them onto the photograph. sometime I want all the senses to come out at once, and sometimes only one or two. I want to create so much.
I love macro photography because it is capturing the beauty we often do not see. I am capturing it and bringing it to light. I want it to shout, " I AM HERE!"
